What does it take to build a successful career? For The League Global team, the 2026 National Leadership Summit offered plenty of answers. Held July 24–25 in Houston, the event featured stories from top performers, leadership discussions, team recognition, and conversations that reinforced an important idea: where you come from does not have to determine where you can go.
One of the biggest takeaways from the summit was seeing how different backgrounds can lead to meaningful professional success. Throughout the event, our team heard from high performers who took different paths to reach where they are today. Despite those differences, their experiences consistently pointed back to two qualities: drive and discipline.
Being surrounded by professionals who share that mindset gave our team the chance to exchange ideas, hear new perspectives, and see what can happen when people continue pushing themselves beyond what they thought was possible.
Celebrating The League Global Team
The summit was also a chance to recognize several accomplishments across The League Global.
Tatiana Paino, Britney Hasty, Taylor Kerpen, and Lindsay Lefeld were recognized by one of our clients as a recruiting team for driving some of the highest growth metrics across the country. Tatiana and Britney also received recognition for helping expand into a new market over the past year.
Josie Hess was recognized as a VIP at the event after ranking among the top 30 highest earners out of more than 3,000 sales representatives nationally.
Michael Lefeld was also recognized for his leadership and contributions to the event. He was selected as a breakout learning speaker for a group of CEOs whose companies collectively generate more than $250 million in annual revenue. He was later selected to host the evening awards event as its MC.
Leadership Starts With Relationships
Michael’s breakout session focused on coaching leaders without micromanaging, centering on a lesson that closely reflects The League Global’s approach to leadership: strong leaders are built through strong relationships.
Rather than treating performance as the only measure of effective leadership, Michael discussed the importance of understanding the people behind the results. Supporting, challenging, and developing individuals requires a relationship built on trust. As he explained, “You can manage people without a relationship. You can’t build leaders without one.”
He also challenged leaders to protect opportunities for genuine, in-person connection as virtual communication becomes increasingly common.
“You can stay connected virtually. You build real relationships in person.”
For The League Global, that message extends beyond leadership development. Meaningful relationships influence how teams communicate, how people respond to challenges, and ultimately how an organization grows.
Bringing The Lessons Home
The National Leadership Summit gave The League Global team plenty to celebrate, along with new ideas to carry forward.
Our team returned to Illinois with new perspectives from top performers, stronger connections with professionals from around the country, and a renewed appreciation for the discipline behind meaningful achievement.
Most importantly, the experience reinforced a belief that continues to shape The League Global: your starting point does not determine your potential. The stories shared throughout the summit showed that success can take many forms and come from many different backgrounds, but drive, discipline, and a commitment to growth remain powerful common denominators. Those are the lessons our team will continue carrying into the opportunities ahead.
