Growing up in Champaign, Illinois, Josie Hess was shaped early by a strong family foundation and a deeply competitive environment. Raised in a household where hard work was a necessity rather than a choice, she learned the value of persistence from an early age. Her parents played a major role in shaping that mindset, instilling discipline, independence, and a belief that success is earned through effort.
Coming from a family of athletes, competition was always part of her life. That influence carried into her own athletic journey, where she went on to play Division 1 volleyball. The structure of sports, combined with the constant pressure to perform, helped her develop resilience, communication skills, and a strong sense of accountability that would later shape her professional path.

Her upbringing was not without challenges. Financial hardship and watching her mother work multiple jobs to support the family created a lasting motivation to build a different future—one where she could give back and create stability for those she loves.
Finding Direction and Entering a Performance-Driven Career
After years of competing at a high level, Josie began exploring career paths that matched her energy and ambition. Sales stood out as a natural fit. It combined competition, communication, and personal growth in a way that felt familiar yet challenging.
Before joining The League Global, she was drawn to the idea of working in an environment where performance directly impacted opportunity. That mindset led her to step into a role that would allow her to test her abilities, learn quickly, and grow through experience rather than waiting for time to pass.
She began her journey with us on January 14, 2025, and quickly immersed herself in our performance-based culture. From day one, she embraced the pace, structure, and expectations that came with the job.
Growth, Leadership, and Daily Development
Josie’s progression at The League Global reflects both her work ethic and her mindset. Within her first year, she earned two promotions and stepped into a Senior Lead Executive role, marking a significant milestone in her early career. Along the way, she also reached personal goals such as earning a six-figure income and purchasing her first new vehicle!

One of the defining aspects of her growth has been her ability to adapt quickly and stay coachable. She credits much of her development to learning from leaders around her and applying feedback in real time.
“Failure is not failure unless you quit. I think for me, I’ve had to learn from my setbacks and seek feedback so that I don’t make the same mistakes multiple times.”
That mindset has become a driving force in how she approaches both challenges and leadership. She leads by example, holding herself to high standards while encouraging others to do the same. Her leadership style is rooted in consistency, accountability, and a willingness to do the work alongside her team.
Culture, Values, and What Comes Next

What Josie values most in a workplace is energy, drive, and loyalty. She thrives in environments where people push each other to improve while maintaining strong relationships built on trust and mutual respect. At The League Global, she has found a culture that aligns with her competitive nature and desire for growth.
Her long-term vision is centered on impact. She aims to continue developing as a leader, build and mentor a high-performing team, and ultimately create opportunities for others to grow within the same system that helped shape her journey.
“Once you stop using circumstances as an excuse and start focusing on what you can control, everything changes.“
Looking ahead, Josie remains focused on growth, consistency, and leadership development. For her, success is not defined by a single milestone but by daily progress and the ability to keep improving while helping others do the same.
